Artificial Turf: A Solution for Pest and Insect Control

Are you tired of seeing insects and pests in your house? Or does being bitten by them over and over again annoy you already? Good news! An effective and effortless way to greatly reduce or minimize insects and pests is now available to everyone. The answer is getting an artificial turf for yourself. A turf is more commonly known as artificial grass.

Synthetic grass is not just used for aesthetic purposes.  There are a lot of benefits of using artificial grass. One of these is it that it reduces pests and insects. Below are some reasons as to why artificial grass can accomplish this.

  1. Synthetic Turf Creates Feeding Problems for Insects and Pests

Plants grow from the soil and this is a very good source of food for insects and pests. When you replace natural grass with turf, soil access is limited. Not only that, it resists bacteria as well. Most importantly, it cannot grow plants or flowers. This feature greatly limits the food source of insects and pests.

With food source being limited, these creatures cannot survive for long. It also affects their breathing. Since they cannot live in synthetic turf, you won’t have to spend hundreds of dollars for insecticides or pesticides.

  1. Synthetic Turf Limits Insects and Pests to Access the Soil

Most insects need access to the soil. When you install artificial grass, layers of rubber, gravel, and turf covering are placed on the ground. This causes insects to have a hard time reaching the soil, get food, and lay eggs. Insects might survive on the ends of a turf, but it won’t make them last because their natural habitat is covered. They will surely migrate in no time.

  1. Flowing Water

Unlike natural grass which requires watering for maintenance, a turf uses flowing water.  When you water natural grass, the water would stay on the ground for minutes. With artificial turf, water flows because trenches are created to drain it after cleaning. Obviously, this keeps mosquitoes and other insects away.

  1. Synthetic Turf Ignores Extreme Weather Conditions

An artificial turf reflects and holds heat. There might be insects tolerant to high temperature, but only for short periods of time. Since turf can hold heat, it remains warm after sunset and would last long even at night, making it difficult for insects and pests.

These features of artificial turf would greatly eliminate pest or insect problems. This provides a healthy home and a safe place for your family and kids. It feels great living in a house with less or if possible no insects bother us.
